Petco Love’s Lifesaving Awards is a celebration of love that saves animal lives, representing our thanks to those people who put their love into action every day to create a better world for pets and the people who love and need them. The awards recognize exemplary performance by organizations and individuals whose dedication and commitment to solutions and achieving success create a significant lifesaving impact.

Dog is My Copilot

Dog is my CoPilot partners with nearly 100 animal welfare organizations to save animal lives across the country by transporting pets from under-resourced shelters to geographical locations where adopters are anxiously awaiting their new family members – by plane!

Angels of Assisi

K9s For Warriors

K9s For Warriors is the nation’s largest provider of service canines to warriors suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder as a result of military service post-9/11.

Montgomery County Animal Services

Montgomery County Animal Services is a municipal shelter that saves 93% of the 15,000 animals they take in each year. They represent an area of more than 1,000 square miles where their 9 Animal Control Officers are responsible for responding to the 13,000 animal control calls received annually.

Kayla Denney, Taft Animal Control

Kayla Denney left her job as an accountant to pursue her passion for pets. She traded in her office for the kennels and got to work transforming the department and achieved over 95% save rate!

Brian Devine
Petco Love was founded in 1999, because one man, Brian Devine had the foresight to create the Foundation to help save animal lives. Petco has never sold dogs and cats in its stores, because people like Brian believed in the importance of pet adoption. Since 1999, Petco Love has invested more than $200 million dollars in animal welfare organizations throughout the country. In recognition of his contributions, Brian Devine received Petco Love Founder Award.

Congratulations to our 2017 Paul Jolly Compassion Award Winner -- the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association! "If a little shelter whose budget was less than a million dollars in rural West Virginia can become a lifesaving facility and sustain that and change their community, anyone can do it," said Chelsea Staley. Impact -- "to have a strong effect on someone or something." LifeLine Animal Project certainly did that for more than 16,000 animals in Atlanta's county shelters. What was once called a chamber of horrors is now a lifesaving organization. This transformational impact is what makes LifeLine Animal Project Petco Love's 2017 Lifesaving Impact Award winner.

2017 Spay Neuter Award - Coalition for Pets ...

Spay Neuter Award

Coalition for Pets and its founder, Erika Brunson, are working to reduce the high intake of animals at the Los Angeles county shelters, with 120,000 spay neuter surgeries and counting. They believe in helping people and pets in need. Coalition for Pets is the 2017 Petco Love Spay Neuter Award winner.
